Ever wanted to make your own robot? In this workshop, we will create junk craft robots of our very own. (No electrics, this is a craft activity). You will also design and make a super cool grabber claw and learn all about friction and loads in the process.

This workshop is back by popular demand, so don't delay..book now!

 

TERM DURATION: All our before and after school programs run for an 8 week term. Most often, this means we start in week 2 of the normal school term and finish in the 2nd last week of the school term. 

ENROLMENT: Your enrolment is for 1 term only. All current students will have priority access to enrolment for the following term. PLEASE NOTE: If you have not re-enrolled for the following term by the 2nd last week of the current school term, your child’s place will become available to others. 

WHAT TO BRING: A small snack for afternoon tea (afternoon classes only)

MEETING PLACE AFTER SCHOOL: Children are to meet me in the undercover area on the bench outside the Art Studio. The Art studio is located downstairs from A playground then directly on the right. Please let your child’s teacher know they’ll be attending the class after school and will make their own way to our meeting spot after school.

For Kindy students only, they will be collected directly from their classes by the art teacher. 

ABSENCES: VERY IMPORTANT - Please inform Art Discovery by text message (0414 704 229) as soon as possible if your child will be absent on the day of their class, so that I can account for any missing children. Absences are not refunded or credited. Please do not send your child to a class if they are unwell.

COLLECTION OF CHILDREN: Children are not allowed to walk home alone, unless permission has been arranged with Art Discovery. Please collect your child promptly at the end of class from the Art Studio. You will be required to sign them out upon collection. If someone other than a parent/guardian will be picking up your child, please email/text Art Discovery to let us know first. If your child will be attending OSHC after art class, you need to have organised this with OSHC and Art Discovery and filled out all the legal documentation required by OSHC prior to beginning the term with Art Discovery.

COVID19: When dropping off/picking up students, please remember to socially distance from other parents and use the hand sanitizer when signing in/out.

HEALTH & SAFETY: All classes are delivered by an experienced art educator with a current Working With Children Check and full vaccination status. Parents are responsible for communicating any student special needs to Art Discovery prior to the day of workshop and supplying adequate medicines & treatment plans if needed. Please do not send your child to a class if they are unwell. Art Discovery endeavours to provide a safe environment at all times - however, from time to time we may use materials that can cause minor injuries. Parents retain ultimate responsibility for deciding whether their child is mature enough to partake in classes. Students should also accept some personal responsibility for sensible use of materials. Please be assured that our staff will do their best to ensure your child is safe, happy and enjoys their time with Art Discovery.

Our Creative Kits are aimed at primary aged children, however depending on the capabilities of your child, some adult assistance may make their experience more enjoyable. Some of our kits include a low temperature hot glue gun. We always recommend adult supervision when using the glue guns. Art Discovery does not accept any responsibility for any injury or damage caused by the use of the hot glue guns. NSW Creative Kids vouchers cannot be used to purchase kits or art materials.

Only Primary School aged children may attend our school holiday workshops.

Art Discovery reserves the right to change and / or cancel advertised programming at any time.

Wear clothes that can get messy! 

 

DROP OFF & PICK UP: Workshops are held in The Art Studio, which is towards the rear of the school, downstairs and to the right. There will be wayfinding signage on the day to help you. Students must be signed in by a parent or guardian on the day of the workshop and must be signed out again when they are picked up. Children cannot be released alone except via prior arrangement with Art Discovery.

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY:  Refunds, credit notes or make-up classes are not offered if cancelling a workshop due to an attendee changing their mind, being unwell, getting the dates mixed up or needing to self-isolate. The booking is however transferable to a friend by your arrangement and if Art Discovery is advised of the change and that attendee’s full contact details are supplied as per enrolment form and advice if child has allergies or illness etc. 

In case of workshop cancellation due to COVID-19 outbreaks, public health orders or lockdowns, credit notes will be issued. Credit notes may be used towards any art programs within 1 year of issue. If a workshop is cancelled by Art Discovery for any other reason, attendees will receive a full refund.
